Reporting to the venue

  • On the day of the event report to the Duty Manager
    • Ensure they add to the accident book or their Food Safety Management System Diary as appropriate
    • Take the name of the manager / server on duty
    • Ask for a copy of the documentation

It may not be possible to report on the day if you are dealing with a medical reaction, where possible notify someone of the issue before leaving.  Take a sample of the food if possible.

  • When you get home find the head office contact, make a report as appropriate, and request they contact you with feedback of the issues and changes made
    • Via their contact or feedback page
    • Via social media

Franchises

Some business’s are not solely owned by the named organisation, they may be  a franchise or owned by an investment company e.g.: MacDonalds, Costa Coffee, and Hilton Hotels.  Also you will find some FBO’s are part of a membership and operate indepentely for example Best Western Hotels.

Note: If the FBO offers vouchers – you do not have to accept, after experiencing an issue you will probably will not want to return unless reassurance is given .  The FBO should still feedback the outcome of your issue.
